Tuesday, July 1, 2014

12:28 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Occurred on Cherry Lane. Newer white Toyota four door parked in front of the next door neighbor's house occupied by two subjects, has been parked there for over two hours. Disposition: Unable to locate.

12:54 a.m. Parked vehicle. Officer initiated activity at East "I" Street. Open trunk. Disposition: Checks ok.

12:59 a.m. Disturbing the peace. Occurred on Airport Drive, Caliente. Cellular 9-1-1 call. In walker basin area, reporting party advising that someone came to residence, pounded on door and harassed reporting party over fencing and property lines. Caller transferred to Kern County Sheriff's office, stayed on line to listen. Disposition: Turn over to.

3:22 a.m. Assist other agencies. Occurred at Madre Street/Santa Maria Drive. Subject seen walking out of the driveway of the northeast corner house. White male, last seen wearing a baseball cap and woodland camouflage pants, elderly female known to live there. Subject is now on foot in the area. Disposition: Assisted.

3:42 a.m. Driving under the influence of alcohol. Occurred at Love's Truck Stop on East Tehachapi Blvd. Disposition: Turn over To CHP.

4:18 p.m. Traffic Stop. Officer initiated activity at West Tehachapi Boulevard/South Mill Street. Disposition: Arrest made, warrant.

8:34 a.m. Counter at the police department. Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Police Department. Disposition: Assignment completed.

10:35 a.m. Traffic hazard. Officer initiated activity at Valley Boulevard/Tucker Road. Disposition: Assignment completed.

10:57 a.m. Found property. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department. Counter. Disposition: Report taken.

10:58 a.m. Out for investigation. Officer initiated activity at North Mojave Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

11:07 a.m. Vehicle repossession. Occurred on Enterprise Way. Dodge Ram black F1500, owner does not know. Disposition: Report taken.

11:30 a.m. Petty theft, less than $400. Occurred at Kmart Shopping Center. Petty theft just occurred, white male, 20 years of age, wearing blue jeans, black T-shirt, white back pack, standing in the front of entrance in the parking lot, on foot. Disposition: Arrest made.

11:40 a.m. Robbery alarm. Occurred at The 58 Restaurant on East Steuber Road. Disposition: False alarm.

1:04 p.m. Burglary report. Occurred on Cherry Lane. Just occurred, Hispanic male, wearing black shirt, 5' 6",  bald, blue jeans, 20 years of age, tattoos tried to break into the window and the door, under the influence, last seen running away from the apartment and picked up by a gray car, unknown make, model, or license plate, in unknown direction. Disposition: No further action required.

1:46 p.m. Counter at the police department. Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Police Department. Stolen property. Disposition: Report taken.

2:09 p.m. Disturbing the peace. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on West "C" Street. Noise complaint. Disposition: Assignment completed.

3:13 p.m. Out for investigation. Officer initiated activity at West "C" Street/South Mill Street. Assisting a female. Disposition: Assignment completed.

3:26 p.m. Welfare check request. Occurred at The Village Apartments on North Mill Street. Woman is yelling and screaming and upset, I can not understand her, hung up. Disposition: Checks ok.

4:16 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Apache Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

4:23 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Cherry Lane, Tehachapi. Disposition: Assignment completed.

5:15 p.m. Found property. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on West "C" Street. Disposition: Report taken.

5:55 p.m. Disturbing the peace. Occurred at East "E" Street/South Robinson Street. CHP transfer, reporting party stating physical disturbance in progress. Disposition: Situation resolved.

6:18 p.m. Spousal abuse report. Occurred on Peach Tree Court. Earlier today, spousal abuse between subjects, reporting party was choked by disturbing party and passed out,  requesting officer contact for advice/counsel. Disturbing party is no longer on scene.  Reporting party was advised to recontact if disturbing party came back to the residence. Disposition: Arrest made.

7:31 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at West "J" Street. Disposition: Checks ok.

7:46 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Cherry Lane, Tehachapi. Disposition: No further action required.

7:59 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Walnut Drive. Disposition: Checks ok.

8:06 p.m. Hazardous material. Occurred at Valley Boulevard/Mulberry Street. States fireworks are being set off at the apartment complex behind her on the corner. Has been occurring for the last 15 minutes. Disposition: Advised.

8:24 p.m. Out for investigation. Officer initiated activity at Aspen Drive. On the west side. Disposition: Arrest made, under the influence.

8:38 p.m. Burglary alarm. Occurred on West "F" Street. Audible, showing east motion, responsible will respond only if there is a problem. Disposition: False alarm.

10:39 p.m. Counter at the police department. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department.  Females requesting officer contact, will be in a red car. Disposition: Unable to locate.

10:53 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Occurred on East "I" Street. Cellular 9-1-1 call: Dark grey vehicle, possibly three people in the vehicle has been parked for at least an hour. Disposition: Checks ok.

8:08 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Deertrail Drive. Ongoing issue. Disposition: Quiet on departure.

1:49 p.m. Out for investigation. Officer initiated activity at Sunland Way. Disposition: Arrest made.

4:02 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred at Pool on Rollingoak Drive. White Toyota 4 Runner, in the parking lot near the pool area, dog in the vehicle, can be seen panting. Disposition: Unable to locate.

4:05 p.m. Traffic hazard. Officer initiated activity at Cumberland Road/Sunrise Way. Disposition: Assignment completed.

4:15 p.m. Assault. Occurred at Whiting Center on Bear Valley Road. Cellular 9-1-1 call: Blue 4 Runner, disturbing party is now at Bear Valley market, white short male, collared striped shirt, midnight blue, put his hands on reporting party's husband. Disposition: Advised.

8:28 a.m. Hazardous material. Occurred on Dart Drive. Reporting party smells a strong odor of propane in the back side of her house, possibly the house behind her. Disposition: Turn over to.

9:02 a.m. Auto accident, no injuries. Occurred on Bear Valley Road. Vehicle versus deer, 1/4 to a 1/2 mile from the fire station, on eastbound lane, gray Toyota Tundra. Disposition: Situation resolved.

9:42 a.m. Vehicle identification. Occurred on Artesian Court. Disposition: Assignment completed.

9:47 a.m. Suspicous vehicle. Occurred on Deertrail Drive. Older, small pickup with dark primer keeps passing up and down the street. Disposition: Gone on arrival.

3:33 p.m. Reclkess driving. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/Jacaranda Drive. Cellular 9-1-1 call: F350 white truck, turned left on Serra. Disposition: Unable to locate.

3:53 p.m. Peace disturbance, verbal. Occurred at Bear Valley Police Department. Disposition: Arrest made.

4:16 p.m. Vehicle identification. Occurred on El Rancho Drive. VIN verification. Disposition: Assignment completed.

5:42 p.m. Animal call. Occurred on Martingale Way. Raven with a broken wing. Disposition: Unable to locate.

6:10 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Grier Enterprises, Serra Place. Disposition: Information only.

9:28 p.m. Animal call. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/Sutter Court. Someone hit a deer, deer is possibly still alive. Disposition: Checks ok.

9:30 p.m. Hazardous material. Occurred on Bear Valley Road. Can smell a very strong strange odor in the area. Disposition: Unable to locate.

4:36 a.m. Assist other agencies. Occurred at Golden Hills Motel on Woodford/Tehachapi Road. Suspicious person, white male, no shirt, and red pants attempted to kick in the manager's door. Disposition: No further action required.

6:56 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on San Juan Drive. Barking dog. Disposition: Checks ok.

7:18 a.m. Animal call. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/Columbia Way. Loose goat. Disposition: Unable to locate.

8:15 a.m. 9-1-1 HANG UP. Occurred at California Correctional Institution on Highway 202. Disposition: Information only.

12:12 p.m. Bear Valley CSD ordinance. Occurred at Cub Lake on Bear Valley Road.. West side of Bear Valley Road there are two riders on horses. There is a "no horse" sign posted on the walking path. Disposition: Information only.

12:54 p.m. Reckless driving. Occurred on Highway 202. Eastbound going toward the city, white 250 pickup, road rage, reporting party no longer has visual. Disposition: Turn over to.

3:01 p.m. Counter at the police department. Occurred at Bear Valley Police Department. Disposition: Advised.

4:26 p.m. Reckless driving. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/Serra Place. Driving at excessive rates of speed on a yellow dirt bike, male driver, unknown clothing or helmet, also seen driving on various properties. Disposition: Unable to locate.

9:36 p.m. Suspicious circumstances. Occurred on Willow Pass Drive. Across the street from reporting party's residence, heard glass breaking, possibly at the residence between the house with lots of lights on outside and the blue house, dogs were barking, all is quiet now. Disposition: Report taken.

9:53 p.m. Reckless driving. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/Cumberland Road. Cellular 9-1-1 call. Blue or green Mustang, crossing double lines, was seen heading past Cumberland, reporting party discontinued following. Disposition: Information only.
 

Kern County Sheriff's Department: Between July 1 and the morning of July 2, the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to more than 18 calls for service, including a grand theft on Melsetter Road/Tanganda Road, suspicious person on Golden Hills Boulevard, fraud using personal information on Fran Drive, missing person on Old Town Road, public intoxication on Valley Boulevard, peace disturbance on Rod Court/Golden Hills Boulevard, malicious mischief on Apache Street, cruelty to animals on Hill Street, and peace disturbance on Mini Court.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• Relay for Life will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at the coy Burnett Stadium on Tehachapi Boulevard, east of Synder Avenue. All proceeds will go to help find a cure for cancer. For more information, call Lynda at 823-7525.

• Six area restaurants will be dishing out dinner at the Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest to be held on Saturday, July 19, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Benz Visco Sports Park in Tehachapi.  
General admission tickets are $45 and includes lots of beer tastings and barbecue samplings, as well as dinner. VIP admission is $100 and includes a fully catered VIP section, wine, beer and other adult libations.  Tickets and more information are available at: TehachapiBrew.com.

• Tehachapi Community Theater will hold auditions for the classic suspense thriller "Wait Until Dark" on Saturday, July 5, beginning at 10 a.m., and Sunday, July 6, at 2 p.m. Tryouts will be held at the Second Space, located at 431 "J" St. The production will run for three weekends in October. Gary Mazzola will direct. He is looking for six adult men, one adult woman and one girl approximately 9 to 14 years of age. More details can be found on tctonstage.com. CIVIC CALENDAR

• The Old Town Merchant Association’s Steering committee meets at 8 a.m. on July 2 at Kelley’s Cafe, 20424 Brian Way, to bring property and business owners up to speed on the Old Town Visioning process spearheaded by Kern County before it is unveiled on July 9.

• The Tehachapi City Council meets at 6 p.m. on July 7 at the Claude L. Wells Building, 300 South Robinson St.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees meets at 6 p.m. on July 8 at the Claude L. Wells Building, 300 South Robinson St.

• Kern County will unveil its Old Towne Visioning process at 6 p.m. on July 9 at the Valley Oak Charter School, 20705 South St. The goal is to help revitalize Old Towne Tehachapi.

• The East Kern Economic Alliance meets at 2 p.m. on July 10 in the community room of the Tehachapi Police Department’s new station at 220 West “C” St.
