8:52 a.m. Tehachapi city ordinance, occurred at West Park on West "D" Street. Two people in park sleeping toward back baseball field, no further info. Disposition: Field interview.

9:14 a.m. Counter at police department, occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on West "C" Street. Suspicious phone calls, runs a daycare. Disposition: Assignment completed.

9:30 a.m. Petty theft report,  occurred on North Mill Street. Credit card and drivers license was stolen. Disposition: Report taken.

9:43 a.m. Threats death/bodily injury, occurred on South Mill Street. Ex-boyfriend  from Bakersfield, threatening ex-girlfriend in person and over phone. . Disposition: Information only, unfounded.

10:16 a.m. Counter at police department,  occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on West "C" Street. Credit card fraud. Disposition: Report taken.

10:29 a.m. Suspicious person, occurred on Las Colinas Street. Person in neighborhood with unmarked vehicle wearing orange shirt trying to get into peoples houses; second hand info. Disposition: Unable to locate.

11:07 a.m. Assist other agencies, occurred on Aspen Drive. See if blue and white dirt bike supposed to be in Bakersfield. Disposition: Unable to locate.

11:18 a.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Las Colinas Street. A subject disturbing the peace by making threats to her father. Subject has access to a knife.  Disposition: Report taken.

11:38 a.m. Assist other agencies, occurred at California Correctional Institute on Highway 202. Female came to visit under the influence,  failed all sobriety tests.  Disposition: Turn over to CHP.

12:53 p.m. Vandalism report, occurred on Tucker Road. Fuel line cut on work vehicle in parking lot, noticed about 10 mins ago. Disposition: Report taken.

4:18 p.m. Welfare check request, occurred on Cherry Lane. Eight kids alone in house,  ages ranging from 3 to 10.  Disposition: Assignment completed, checks OK.

6:46 p.m. Out for investigation, officer initiated activity at Welch Court. Disposition: Arrest made, warrant.

5:43 p.m. Citizen requested assistance, occurred on South Green Street. Credit card was declined, restaurant refusing to return card to reporting party. Reporting party is inside restaurant, wearing jeans, pink sweater. Disposition: Situation resolved.

8:17 p.m. Vandalism against person or property of another, occurred on Kelton Street. Reporting party observed white male juvenile on orange bike knock his bike on a vehicle in the carport of the apartment complex, in the company of a Hispanic male juvenile. Reporting party requesting officer to attempt contact with juvenile and parents for ongoing situation. Disposition: Advised.

8:18 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Tucker Road. Party, multiple juveniles playing/running in parking lot unsupervised. Disposition: Checks OK.

8:37 p.m. Citizen requested assistance,  occurred on East "E" Street. Reporting party is out of state, requesting phone contact. 13-year-old daughter advised father grabbed her arm and twisted it. Reporting party does not have address for disturbing party, can only advise it is by City Park. Disposition: Unfounded.

8:50 p.m. Drunk in public, occurred at La Quinta Hotel on Steuber Road. White male, approximately 22 years old, no shirt, American flag swim trunks, attempted to start a verbal peace disturbance with another hotel guest who was standing out on their balcony. Disposition: Unfounded.

9:48 p.m. Welfare check request, occurred at Indian Creek Villas on Tucker Road. 27-year-old female was on phone with reporting party, stated her husband hit her approximately a half year ago. Hung up with reporting party, stated she would call her back, has not, and its not answering the phone. Disposition: Unfounded.

9:58 p.m. Driving under the influence of alcohol, occurred on Steuber Rd. Red 90s model Mustang, unknown Colorado license plate, swerving/braking, checking multiple vehicles before pulling off road.  Disposition: Unfounded.

11:21 p.m. Burglary, inhabited, occurred on Cherry Lane. Unknown subject broke into home while reporting party was sleeping, gained entry through sliding glass door. Reporting party had no visual of subjects. Disposition: Report taken.

Bear Valley Police Department: Data unavailable at this time.

Kern County Sheriff's Department: Between July 7 and the morning of July 8, the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to 15 calls for service in Tehachapi, including: a grand theft case on Melsetter Road/Tanganda Road in Sand Canyon, a theft investigation on La Jara Drive in Golden Hills, a health and safety call on Highway 202 at California Correctional Institution, a burglary investigation on Pinon Canyon Drive in Golden Hills, a 9-1-1 call on Lake Drive in Golden Hills, a loud music call on Paddock Street/Indian Wells Drive in Golden Hills, and a theft investigation on Santa Barbara Drive/Santa Lucia Street in Golden HIlls.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.

• Relay for Life will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 through Sunday, July 13 at the coy Burnett Stadium on Tehachapi Boulevard, east of Synder Avenue. All proceeds will go to help find a cure for cancer. For more information, call Lynda at 823-7525.

• Six area restaurants will be dishing out dinner at the Tehachapi Mountain Brew and Grill Fest to be held on Saturday, July 19, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Benz Visco Sports Park in Tehachapi.  
General admission tickets are $45 and includes lots of beer tastings and barbecue samplings, as well as dinner. VIP admission is $100 and includes a fully catered VIP section, wine, beer and other adult libations.  Tickets and more information are available at:


• The Tehachapi City Council meets at 6 p.m. on July 7 at the Claude L. Wells Building, 300 South Robinson St.

• Kern County will unveil its Old Towne Visioning process at 6 p.m. on July 9 at the Valley Oak Charter School, 20705 South St. The goal is to help revitalize Old Towne Tehachapi.

• Golden Hills Community Services District's board of directors will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on July 9 to discuss the Golden Hills Sanitation District and related items. The board meets at its district office at 21415 Reeves Street.

• The East Kern Economic Alliance meets at 2 p.m. on July 10 in the community room of the Tehachapi Police Department’s new station at 220 West “C” St.

• Bear Valley Community Services District board of directors meets at 6 p.m. on July 10 at the district office, 28999 South Lower Valley Blvd.
