The latest news - Despite losing to Hanford West 53-33 last week in the CIF Central Section Division III semifinals, the Lady Warriors' basketball team will continue its season in the state playoffs. State brackets were announced late Sunday and No. 12 Tehachapi (23-6) will play at No. 5 Reseda (21-5) this Wednesday at 7 p.m. AND .... Dillan Harroun became the first THS athlete to reach the second day of competition at the CIF California State Wrestling Championship last weekend at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.

15:33 FLAG DOWN Officer initiated activity at West “F” St. and South Mill St. Two white female juveniles being chased by a Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt, jeans. Arrest made for possession of an illegal knife was unrelated to the original call for service.
15:57 HIT AND RUN/PROPERTY Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Past occurrence at Valley and Snyder. One vehicle drove away by Hispanic female.

18:10 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on East “E” St. Subject has been standing in front of reporting parties property for a couple of hours. Reporting party wants him to leave. Reporting party stated he wanted to talk to a woman who is inside the house. Unable to locate.

21:31 DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Occurred at Del Taco on Tucker Rd. Possible DUI in dark blue Dodge. Driver is in the drive thru. Arrest made.

18:00 FOLLOW UP Occurred on Hickory Ave. Male returned home to get clothing at approx 5 p.m. then left again. Appeared under the influence and extremely paranoid. Left wearing black shirt and black pants walking toward Pinon from address on Hickory. Has recently posted pictures on Facebook.
18:50 RECKLESS DRIVING Occurred at East Tehachapi Blvd. and South Dennison Rd. Eastbound Tehachapi Blvd. from Dennison. A large black sedan ran reporting party off the road. Unable to locate.
19:19 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on East “E” St. Physical between husband and son. No weapons. Son is leaving on foot toward the park from residence. CHP calling fire department.
19:36 ANIMAL CALL Occurred at The Village Apartments on North Mill St. Pit Bull attacked reporting party’s dog and dog went into an apartment in the complex. Unable to locate.
21:54 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred on South Green St. Two males lurking in the bushes wearing bark clothes. Last seen on foot southbound on Green St. toward Mesquite. Unable to locate.
22:22 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred on East “H” St. Unknown white male jumped into backyard and took off on foot. Last seen heading northbound jumping other fences. Wearing black shirt and dark pants. Gone on arrival.

10:44 VANDALISM AGAINST PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Her vehicle was damaged while she was at Home Depot on March 2.
11:15 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred on Arabella Court. Responsible party states that no one should be there. False alarm.

This afternoon: Sunny, with a high around 61 with a light north to northwest breeze.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with the low dipping to 35. Breezy.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. Light southwest winds in the afternoon with gusts to 15 mph.
Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, chilly with a low of 33. West winds up to 15 mph.
By Wednesday the weather is expected to make a big change, as rain moves in through Friday with snow falling at higher levels around 4,700.

CIVIC CALENDAR
The Tehachapi City Council will meet tonight, March 4 at 6 p.m. at the Beekay Theatre located at 110 South Green St. To view the agenda please click here.
A special meeting has been called by the Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees for Tuesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center located at 300 South Robinson St. The meeting is being held to allow the board to approve the elimination of two elementary school teacher's positions.
