Tehachapi Police Department:

May 20, 2014

8:51 a.m. Citizen requested assistance, occurred at The Village Apartments on North Mill Street.  Receiving emails, reporting party recontacted and wants officer to return to her house. Disposition: Assignment completed.

9:29 a.m. Counter at the Police Department, occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Female subject receiving threats, being harassed by another female. Reporting party is Spanish-speaking only, has translator. Disposition: Advised.

3:22 p.m. Accident with no details, occurred at the post office on Voyager Drive. Reporting party is at counter of Tehachapi Police Department. No injuries, possible property damage. Disposition: Assignment completed.

3:51 p.m. Post Community Release Supervision search, officer initiated activity at West "J" Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

3:55 p.m. Post Community Release Supervision search, officer initiated activity at Alan Avenue. Disposition: Assignment completed.

4:18 p.m. Post Community Release Supervision search, officer initiated activity at East "J" Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

8:22 p.m. Police 9-1-1, occurred on Aspen Drive. Resident requesting assistance from fire department for assistance with oxygen cord. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

8:49 p.m. Police 9-1-1, occurred on West "E" Street. A 66-year-old female has fallen and can't get up, is not injured, front door is locked, home alone. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

Bear Valley Police Department:

May 20, 2014

2:56 p.m. Petty theft report, occurred on Rollingoak Drive. Theft of sand from volleyball courts
Disposition: No further action required.

8:02 p.m. Trespassing, occurred on Fargo Way. Male subject on his property occupying a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Has been asked to leave. Disposition: Situation resolved.

Kern County Sheriff's Department:

Between May 20 and the morning of May 21, the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to 16 calls, including a call for suspicious circumstances on Old Town Road, a call for lost property on Banducci Road, one call for check the welfare at Cummings Valley Elementary School, a call for a burglary, a missing juvenile case, a suspicious circumstance on Old Town Road, and a traffic accident on Zurich Court.

Stallion Springs: Nothing to report.

California Highway Patrol: The California Highway Patrol will conduct a DUI Sobriety / Driver License Checkpoint on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. in an unincorporated area of eastern Kern County. Communities served by the Mojave Area of the California Highway Patrol include Tehachapi, Rosamond, Boron, and Mojave.

Today: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming west 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. East wind around 5 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is percent.

Thursday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• A Beekeeping Workshop will be held Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. A free presentation will also be held on Friday, March 23, at 6 p.m., at the Tehachapi Community Theater's 2nd Space, located at 431 "J" St.



• Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District will present the Tehachapi Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 26, at Philip Marx Park, Mojave and "D" Street.

• Freemasons will meet on Wednesday, May 28, at 7 p.m., in the Tehachapi Masonic Center, located at 24309 Cummings Valley Road. 



• The Catholic Daughters will be holding their Spring Rummage sale on Friday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in McMullan Hall at St. Malachy Catholic Church, located at 407 W. "E" St.

• Scout Troop 178 will host a rummage sale to raise money for Scout Camp on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 7 a.m., at the Health and Wellness Parking lot, located at 20241 Valley Blvd.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• The Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District board of directors will meet 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at 22901 Banducci Road.

• Tehachapi High School will be holding special School Site Council meetings to finish up the business of the year. Meetings will be held Thursdays of May 22 and May 29, at 1 p.m., in the Administration Building in the large conference room. The public is invited to attend.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District’s regular board meeting will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m., at Claude L. Wells Education Center, located at 300 S. Robinson St.

• The Kern County Parks and Recreation Commission will be conducting a meeting at Tehachapi Mountain Park on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m., in the Mess Hall at Tehachapi Mountain Park, located at 17350 Water Canyon Road. The Commission is seeking public input on future improvements at this facility.
The public is encouraged to attend and provide input.

• Tehachapi High School will host the Senior Awards Night, Thursday, May 29, at 6 p.m., in the Tehachapi High School gym. The school's many graduates will be receiving local and national scholarships and awards.

• Lisa Kroese will give a presentation and answer questions on the topic of "What will we do with all of our stuff?" The public is invited and the June 5 meeting will be at the Senior Center, located at 500 E. "F" St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
