The latest news - For the second year, the Tehachapi Heritage League will sponsor the Twilight Tour of Tomo Kahni on Sept. 6. This is a rare opportunity to see Tomo Kahni State Park as few others have, as the sun sets and the moon rises. Attendees will meet at 5 p.m. at the Tehachapi Museum, 310 S. Aug. 22, 2014

10:51 a.m. Warrant service, officer initiated activity at Jamaica Dunes Drive. Disposition: Arrest made.
7:36 a.m. Vicious, barking, biting, etc, occurred on Oakflat Drive. Disposition: Advised.

8:46 a.m. Reckless driving, occurred at Deertrail Drive/Fawn Way. Gray older model four-door driven by a male subject tailgating and nearly hit the reporting party. Partial plate of 3L, last seen on Bear Valley from Deertrail. Disposition: Advised.

12:17 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Arosa Road. Verbal threats, Disposition: Turn over to.

1:01 p.m. Unauthorized use of personal information, occurred at Bear Valley Police Department on Bear Valley Road. Disposition: Report taken.

3:44 p.m. Reckless driving, occurred on Highway 58. Honda Accord westbound on Highway 58 at Mill Street. Disposition: Turn over to.

4:21 p.m. Traffic hazard, occurred at Cummings Valley Road/Highway 202. Lane markers are down in the roadway. Disposition: Advised.

6:58 p.m. Reckless driving, occurred at the gate on Bear Valley Road. Blue truck with grey bottom just went through gate.  Four door, swerving all over the road. Disposition: Unable to locate.

8:20 p.m. Animal call, occurred on Cumberland Road. Deer in roadway west of 2700 block of Cumberland Road. Disposition: Assignment completed.


Aug. 23, 2014

4:31 a.m. Animal call, occurred on Woodbine Court. Injured bear on property, possible front paw injury. Bear was trying to break into shed. Possibly leaving property now. Disposition: Information only.

3:12 p.m. Assist other agencies, occurred on Greenwater Drive. Requesting contact with roll over of vehicle. They towed a vehicle with the plates on it, vin number and vehicle don't match that plate. Disposition: Assisted.

5:25 p.m. Auto accident, no injuries, occurred at Bear Valley Police Department on Bear Valley Road. Both parties are in the lobby, subjects have exchanged info but would like a report for the rental car company. Disposition: Assignment completed.

7:06 p.m. Vicious, barking, biting, etc, occurred on Timberline Way. Barking dog is an ongoing problem. Disposition: Advised.

8:51 p.m. Animal call, occurred at Cumberland Road/Dart Drive. Hit a deer in the area, unknown if it is in the roadway. Disposition: Unable to locate.

9:36 p.m. Peace disturbance music, occurred at Cumberland Road/Saddleback Drive. In the area, can not tell where it is coming from. Disposition: Quiet on departure.

9:44 p.m. Peace disturbance, music, occurred on Cantle Court. Loud music. Disposition: Quiet on departure.

10:10 p.m. Peace disturbance, music, occurred on Wagon Wheel Court. Loud music. Disposition: Unable to locate.

Aug. 24, 2014

9:40 a.m. Out for investigation, officer initiated activity at Martingale Way. Disposition: No further action required.

9:08 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, occurred on Sheeptrail Court. Partially built house across the street, reporting party has seen vehicle lights there approximately three times this week, and a tarp has been put up at garage Possible subjects are sleeping there at night. Disposition: Report taken.

Aug. 25, 2014

3:53 a.m. Animal call, occurred at CSD Dump on South Lower Valley Road. Subject in a truck chasing elk near the dump. Disposition: Unable to locate.

• A group of Free and Accepted Masons will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m., in the Masonic Center, located at 24309 Cummings Valley Road. • The Tehachapi Mountain Quilt Guild's next meeting is Monday, Sept. 8, at 9:30 a.m., at the Bear Valley Church hall, located at 26180 Plateau Way. Any and all quilters and those interested in quilting are invited to attend. Quilters should also mark their calendars for the upcoming rummage sale to be held on Saturday, Oct. 4. More details will be available as the date gets closer.
