Caltrans is working on projects in eastern Kern County, with lane closures scheduled now through Nov. 10.
They include, according to a Caltrans news release:
The Tehachapi CAPM Project: On Highway 58 near Tehachapi from the Tehachapi Creek Bridge to the Cache Creek Bridge, construction crews are grinding existing pavement and resurfacing the roadbed. Lane closures will happen Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day, slowing traffic.
Freeman Gulch 4-Lane Project: Construction crews are converting the 2-lane highway into a 4-lane expressway on Highway 14 north of the junction of Highway 178. Travelers will find a dirt detour off of Highway 178 east of the intersection with Highway 14. There will be daily lane closures on Highway 14 that may delay traffic up to 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
