Small businesses, learn how to get social!

The economic development and community engagement teams at the city of Tehachapi will host a free Social Media for Small Business workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Tehachapi Police Community Room, 220 W. C St.

"This free event will share ways for businesses to establish or improve their presence on social media in order to take advantage of today’s digital economy and brand loyalty initiatives driven by the use of social networking," according to a city news release. "The workshop includes tips and tricks for a basic Facebook and Instagram presence and ways for busy business owners/managers to make social media a part of their daily routine."

The city's economic development coordinator, Corey Costelloe, is slated to talk about why small businesses need social media, and Tehachapi market specifics. Key Budge, the city's community engagement specialist, will talk about best practices on social media. Also, owners of Johnny’s Take and Bake, are slated to talk about their rebranding success using social media, according to the city news release.
