The 7th annual Fall Business Showcase not only gives businesses a chance to shine, it also gives the community the same opportunity.

The free event will take place between 4 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the West Park Activity Center.

“The goal of the showcase is to provide local business an opportunity to network and display their goods to the general public,” said Ida Perkins, president of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce.

Approximately 40 businesses will be exhibiting at the showcase, along with four restaurants.

“It is one of the friendliest communities that we get to visit, so it's always a joy,” Kern Council of Governments Rideshare Coordinator Susanne Campbell said.

Kern Council of Governments has participated in the Fall Business Showcase for six years.

“It's neat for all of us (businesses) to interact with each other,” Campbell said. “And the public is always excited to see what we are there to share, which is a great feeling. It is an event I definitely hate to miss.”

Approximately 400 people are expected to visit the showcase, according to Perkins. The first 200 will receive a tote bag.

“It's a great event for the community to come out and see what Tehachapi businesses have to offer,” Perkins said. “Every year we will have a business that someone will come by and say 'I didn't even know that you were in Tehachapi.'"

“We just invite everyone to come out and have fun,” Perkins added. “There are lots of free goodies, prizes and food.”
