Beginning next year, the Golden Hills Community Services District will have new hours.

Currently, the office is open four days a week from Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Starting Jan. 1, the board of directors voted, 4-1, for the office to be open five days a week, Monday through Friday. Director Ed Kennedy voted no.

It's still to be determined the exact hours of operation as the directors instructed General Manager Bill Fisher to talk with staff about new scheduling.

“Since it will impact our employees, we'll let our GM set up new schedules,” said Director John Buckley. “It will be set so there will be no overtime.”

Director Marilyn White said there had been requests to have more access to services.

“We want to honor the public's request,” she said.
