The Lady Warriors are still undefeated in the SEYL standings after a trio of convincing victories over East 9-5, North 9-2 and Foothill 16-12 last week.
Tehachapi (13-9-1; 4-0 SEYL) was led in the win over East by Mariah Godde, who went 4-4 with three runs scored and Brenna Dezubiria going 3-4 with two RBIs.
Other leaders included Taylor Cummings and Michaela Peters both recording two hits apiece, Danay Lee recording a triple and Kendall Kapitzke and Hannah Grimes recording singles.
Godde was the winning pitcher on the afternoon, recording five strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Later in the week, the Lady Warriors defeated North behind 10 strikeouts in seven innings from Godde, who also had a double and three RBIs at the plate.
Cummings and Peters connected for two hits in the win, with Kathryn Freidt, Emily Mejia, Lee, Grimes and Dezubiria also recording hits.
Mountain Softball also defeated Foothill 16-12 last Friday afternoon, behind a homerun from Hannah Grimes and Godde pitching for the win. Full results will be available in next week's Tehachapi News. The next game for the Lady Warriors will be a contest at Garces next Wednesday, April 23.
Junior Varsity and Frosh-Soph
The Lady Braves remain perfect in league play after defeating East 11-10, North 19-0 and Foothill 22-2 last week.
Vanessa Swan hit a double and scored three runs and Shelby Ricker had two doubles and scored two runs to lead the win over East.
Tehachapi staved off a comeback against East, with the Blades scoring seven runs to tie the game at 8-8 heading into the seventh inning. Down 10-8 in the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Braves re-took the lead and the win with three runs for the thrilling victory.
In the win over North, Una Abarquez pitched and contributed in every out except one, striking out 12 batters overall in five innings. Offensively, Ricker had a homerun and had three runs scored.
Against Foothill, Payton Jones had a triple, three RBIs and scored four runs and Kennedie Onufrak registered a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs. Other leaders included Ricker with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs and Swan with a triple, double, five runs scored and five RBIs.
Abarquez pitched the first three innings and Alexie Adams and Onufrak pitched the fourth and fifth innings respectively in the big win.
In frosh-soph action, the Lady Indians lost 15-10 to East and 10-7 to Foothill, but played Trona's jayvee team and won, 19-9.
Maranda Maliska had a home run and Cassidy Reeves hit a double to highlight the narrow loss to East.
