Assemblywoman Shannon Grove was in Tehachapi on Saturday, Jan. 26, to honor the late Marjorie Owens of Tehachapi by presenting her family with an Memorial Resolution to commemorate her life.
“Family and community meant everything to Margie, and it is an honor to have the opportunity to remember her loving and devoted spirit in this way,” said Shannon Grove. “We’re all very blessed to have known her.”
Marjorie co-owned Kelcy’s Café with her husband, the late Kelcy Owens whose community service included serving as Mayor of Tehachapi. She was also active in St. Malachy’s Catholic Church and Optimal Hospice. She passed away on Nov. 13 following a prolonged illness.
Among those present for presentation of the resolution were Mrs. Owens' daughters, Kathy Bassler, Helen Lantz and Elizabeth Henderson.
