KCSO investigating stabbing of Rosamond man

A Rosamond man was stabbed in the back Wednesday, Jan. 15, and the Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information that may help their investigation.

According to a news release from the KCSO, just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Joe Artiga of Rosamond pulled up behind a California Highway Patrol Officer making a traffic stop at the intersection of Rosamond Boulevard and Eagle Way. The CHP officer made contact with Artiga who said he was stabbed in the back. Deputies and medical aid responded to the location and determined the man had been stabbed approximately six times in the back.  

Artiga was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital. The KCSO is still investigating the incident.
