On Friday, August 3rd, at 1:00 PM, motorcyclist Heath Crowder, 38, of Tehachapi was killed in a traffic collision at the intersection of E. Tehachapi Blvd and the eastbound CA 58 on-ramp.
As Crowder was driving his motorcycle eastbound approaching the intersection, a westbound tractor and trailer combination made a left turn onto the on-ramp in front of the motorcycle.
After conducting a thorough follow up investigation, the Tehachapi Police Department submitted the case for review by the Kern County District Attorney on August 23rd.
Based upon the investigation, on October 4, 2012, the Kern County District Attorney issued a warrant for the arrest of the truck driver, 52-year-old Deborah Van Dyke, a resident of Coppell, Texas.
The misdemeanor warrant is for one count of 192(c)(2) PC, Vehicular Manslaughter Without Gross Negligence. The bail associated with the warrant is $5,000.00.
