LIBRA will host a used book sale Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, at Railroad Park. The price of new books today has increased library use and also the demand for used books. LIBRA is still providing used books for a price -- a very low price. For the price of one new book, an entire bag of used books can be purchased. The public is invited to come browse through the collection of used books and find a bargain.
LIBRA is also collecting donations of used books. Individuals interested in donating their books or entire library are encouraged to call 822-9113 for information concerning where to deliver the books.
LIBRA-Library Associates will be celebrating 25 years as a non-profit organization collecting and selling books in Tehachapi. Proceeds of book sales have been used to enhance the libraries of the TUSD by purchasing furniture, equipment, and the latest in modern technology for each of the school libraries in Tehachapi. This year, their goal is to provide an up-to-date online encyclopedia for kindergarten through grade 12, to be used at home and/or in the school library. Students have been very responsible using these tools and LIBRA hopes the public will join in the effort by visiting the used book sale.
