Quiroga pleads no contest

Logan Rafael Quiroga pled 'no contest" today in Kern County Superior Court on Wednesday to one count of Voluntary Manslaughter. The plea was in connection to the shooting death of Stephen Gregory Christy in Tehachapi on January 13th, 2011.

Logan Rafael Quiroga pled 'no contest ' today in Kern County Superior Court to one count of Voluntary Manslaughter. The plea was in connection to the shooting death of Stephen Gregory Christy in Tehachapi on January 13th, 2011.

After the shooting, Quiroga fled from the Tehachapi area. He was eventually located in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, after a year-long search by the Tehachapi PD, the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation.

He was returned to Kern County on January 2nd, 2012, and booked for one count of murder and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He has remained in custody since that time. Sentencing has been set for November 7 at 8":30 a.m. in Kern County Superior court.

The Tehachapi Police Department appreciates the assistance of the involved agencies, including the Kern County District Attorney, for their help in bringing this case to a conclusion.
