Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 18, 2013

11:55 a.m. Officer initiated activity on Tehachapi city ordinance on Sherwood Place. Parked vehicle is not registered to address. Disposition: Negative contact.

4:19 p.m. Auto accident, no injuries/property at Cherry Lane/Tucker Road. Disposition: Report taken.

Oct. 19, 2013

12:04 a.m. Bar check at saloon on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Disposition: Checks OK.

3:47 a.m. Driving under the influence at restaurant on Tucker Road. White sedan with Iowa plates appears to be driving under the influence. Older white male driver pulled over and started talking to the reporting party and appears to be drunk. Disposition: Checks OK.

2:54 p.m. Petty theft less than $400 at business on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Gasoline stolen from a white diesel truck. Reporting party is third party. Disposition: Advised.

2:59 p.m. Driving under the influence at Tucker Road/West Valley Boulevard. Green Ford Escort is driving very slow and continues to veer out of the lane into oncoming traffic. Disposition: Checks OK.

3:35 p.m. Citizen requested assistance at Police Department. Female's vehicle was towed last night and she needs to pick up the tow slip to retrieve her vehicle from the tow yard. Disposition: Arrest made.

6:11 p.m. Hit and run/property on East "I" Street. White 1995 Buick Century station wagon was hit in a business' parking lot. No suspect vehicle description. Dispsoition: No further action required.

9:30 p.m. Petty theft less than $400 at business on Tucker Road. Female suspect took a beer and a bottle of alcohol. Suspect is detained by loss prevention. Disposition: Arrest made.

9:52 p.m. Bar check at restaurant on Tucker Road. Disposition: Checks OK.

Oct. 20, 2013

6:36 a.m. Stolen vehicle report on Aspen Drive. California Highway Patrol reported to reporting party's parents that they had recovered a vehicle involved in a crash. Reporting party states the vehicle was last seen at about 2 a.m. in his driveway, and he did not know it was missing. Disposition: Report taken.

1:19 p.m. Pedestrian check at Valley Boulevard/Oakwood Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

5:40 p.m. Burglary report on South Curry Street. Subject with facial tattoos attempted to break into reporting party's vehicle. She believes he is still in the area. Disposition: Unable to locate.

7:52 p.m. Pedestrian check at West "I" Street/North Curry Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

9:53 p.m. Pedestrian check on Brentwood Drive. Disposition: Arrest made.

11:29 p.m. Traffic stop at East Tehachapi Boulevard/South Robinson Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 18, 2013

9:23 a.m. Auto accident - no injuries/property at Highway 202/Cummings Valley Road. Off-duty Stallion Springs officer requesting assistance at a non-injury traffic collision at the stop sign. Driver of one of the vehicles is refusing to move until the scene is witnessed by a uniformed officer. Disposition: Situation resolved.

4:07 p.m. Fire: Jeep caught on fire about 10 miles north of Highway 58. Disposition: Turned over.

4:27 p.m. Petty theft report taken at Bear Valley Police Department. Theft from mail box. Disposition: Report taken.

Oct. 19, 2013

9:59 p.m. Drunk in public at Country Club on Rollingoak Drive. Subject is wearing a gray suit, has been drinking and is refusing to leave. Disposition: Arrest made.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Deputies responded to 48 incidents between Oct. 18 and the morning of Oct. 21, including an investigation into fraudulent use of personal information, investigating criminal threats on Brian Way at Carden School, a burglary on Highline Road, a robbery investigation on Birch Court, an illegal shooting on Pine Summit Court (officers were unable to locate), and a petty theft investigation on Golden Hills Boulevard.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 75. East wind around 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. East northeast wind around 10 mph.

A few clouds will move into the skies in the coming days, but highs will remain in the mid-70s and lows in the 40s.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• Two meetings are scheduled for the City Council on Monday, Oct. 21. The first begins at 5:30 p.m. and gives the public a chance to comment on setting a price and terms of payment for the city-owned 108 Pinon St. property sale; the council will then go in to closed session to discuss the issue. The regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. Agenda items include the allocation of funds for the Valley Boulevard culver slip-lining maintenance project; authorizing the soliciting of buyers for four wind turbines at the city's waste water treatment plant; and directing staff to set up an exploratory committee for the structural study of the airport's Hangar 1. Meetings are at the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District Board will hold its scheduled meeting on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 14, has been adjourned until Tuesday, Nov. 12. The November meeting was moved to Tuesday in observance of Veteran's Day.

Football – Varsity/JV at North this Friday, Oct. 25. Frosh at North this Thursday, Oct. 24. Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m. and JV/freshmen starts at 5 p.m.
