Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 22, 2013

7:09 a.m. Accident with no details occurred on Chantico Road. Vehicle appears upside down. Disposition: Turned over to other agency.

9:33 a.m. Missing person occurred on Black Oak Drive. Missing person last seen 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, wearing black and white shirt, black dickies and black shoes. Disposition: Report taken.

9:56 a.m. Health and safety occurred at Monroe High School. 18-year-old on campus in possession of marijuana - principle has subject detained. Disposition: Arrest made.

1:15 p.m. See the women occurred on North Mill Street. Reporting party claims there is a woman who has been bothering her. Disposition: Advised.

2:13 p.m. Driving under the influence occurred at on Valley Boulevard. Cellular E911 Call: possible dui /open container, reporting party is driving behind a tan flat-bed truck, passenger was seen drinking a beer. Disposition: Assisted.

3:29 p.m. Disturbing the peace occurred West "J" Street. Subject is trespassing and disturbing reporting party. Disposition: Checks OK.

4:10 p.m. Disturbing the peace occurred on Cherry Lane. Approximately three males were playing loud music and yelling. Disposition: Checks Ok.

6:48 p.m. Burglary occurred on West "E" Street. Vehicle window smashed in parking lot. Disposition: Report taken.

7:12 p.m. Disturbing the peace occurred on Tucker Road. Two subjects, possibly in early twenties, keep running in and out of store. Disposition: Gone on arrival.

8:21 p.m. Disturbing the peace occurred on Tucker Road. Two subjects fighting, no weapons, in parking lot. Disposition: Assignment completed.

Oct. 23, 2013

12:36 a.m. Disturbing the peace occurred on East "H" Street. Females fighting, lots of activity, reporting party hears screaming. Disposition: No criminal activity.

4:20 a.m. 911 call occurred at Highway and Sand Canyon Road. Cellular E911 Call: Big rig overturned at detour. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.
 

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 23, 2013

6:48 p.m. Extra patrol occurred on Rolling Oak Drive.  Patrol check for wild pigs. Disposition: Checks OK

9:47 p.m. Traffic stop occurred at Bear Valley Road and Palomino Way.  Disposition: Arrest made.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation

Deputies responded to 16 incidents between Oct. 21 and the morning of Oct. 22, including a stolen vehicle report on Golden Hills Boulevard.

Stallion Springs

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation

Deputies responded to 25 incidents between Oct. 22 and the morning of Oct. 23, including three peace disturbances.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 40. West northwest wind around 10 mph.

A few clouds will move into the skies in the coming days, but highs will remain in the mid-70s and lows near 40.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 14, has been adjourned until Tuesday, Nov. 12. The November meeting was moved to Tuesday in observance of Veteran's Day.

• Beginning in November, the City Council and Planning Commission will meet at Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St., in the board room. This is a change from meeting at the Beekay Theatre.

MOUNTAIN SPORTS THIS WEEK

Football – Varsity/JV at North this Friday, Oct. 25. Frosh at North this Thursday, Oct. 24. Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m. and JV/freshmen starts at 5 p.m.

Volleyball – Varsity/JV/frosh-soph at Garces today and at East on Thursday, Oct.24. Matches start at 6:30 p.m. (Varsity), 5 p.m. (JV) and 4 p.m. (frosh-soph).

Girls tennis – Varsity at CIF Division II Playoffs (first round) starting on Thursday, Oct. 24. Bracket information available on cifcs.org.
