The timeframe for closure of Highway 58 near Mojave due to filming in the area has been shortened according to a news release from CalTrans earlier today.
On Wednesday CalTrans said that both the east and westbound lanes of the highway would be closed in the morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 23, through Tuesday, Sept. 25.
In the latest release it was noted that there will not be a full closure of both east and westbound
Instead, CalTrans has approved an encroachment permit for a closure of the westbound lanes only, from Exit 165 to Exit 167 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. each day from Sunday through Tuesday.
Warner Bros. will be filming in the area. Although the studio has made no official announcement, workers on the film have made it known throughout the area that the project is "Hangover III."
A signed detour is in place and alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
For the safety of Highway Workers and motorists, please be attentive to closures, slow for the cone zone, and move over one lane where possible.
