Tehachapi Police Department:

Aug. 23, 2013

12:17 a.m. Music disturbing the peace on South Green Street; ongoing party. Disposition: Advised.

12:48 a.m. Disturbing the peace at residence on North Mill Street. Ten to 12 male and female young adults running around outside and possibly drinking. DIsposition: Checks OK.

10:55 a.m. Petty theft of less than $400 reported at Tompkins Elementary. Disposition: Report taken.

1:08 p.m. Petty theft less than $400 at business on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Male with priors known to have a knife in his pocket; also put a package of condoms in his pocket. Disposition: Arrest made.

3:31 p.m. Suspicious circumstances at Elm St./Sherwood. Two adult males are stopping kids as they walk by, asking if their parents are home. Disposition: Advised.

4:07 p.m. Petty theft report at residence on North Mill Street. Theft of GPS from reporting party's vehicle. Disposition: Report taken.

4:37 p.m. Shots fired/heard on Aleah Lane. Single shot, sounded like a shotgun, coming from somewhere near the high school. Disposition: Unfounded.

5:36 p.m. Tehachapi City ordinance violation on Michelle Lane. Male and female, in their 20s, going door-to-door socliciting funds for a trip. Disposition: Unable to locate.

7:41 p.m. Petty theft less than $400 reported at Central Park. Whole wallet was taken sometime this morning. Disposition: Negative contact.

8:03 p.m. Driving under the influence on East "E" Street. Wife just took off in the car, speeding west on the street then left by Central Park; might be on meth and could be headed for drug dealer. Disposition: Unable to locate.

Aug. 24, 2013

1:05 p.m. Grand theft of $400 or more at Monroe High School gym. Wallet stolen about and hour ago; reporting party has description of possible suspect. Disposition: Report taken.

5:03 p.m. Driving under the influence at Hwy. 58/Monolith. At a restaurant drive-through, in a vehicle occupied by six adults, reporting party saw driver take a swig from an alcohol bottle, then get into the vehicle to drive. Disposition: Arrest made.

Aug. 25, 2013

12:13 a.m. Petty theft less than $400 reported at gas station on East Tehachapi Boulevard. White male juvenile took beer; description reported. Disposition: Report taken.

11:13 a.m. Vehicle on fire near restaurant on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Dispositon: Turned over.

2:16 p.m. Burglary report to vehicle outside residence on Tucker Road. Reporting party said vehicle was last used yesterday evening. Damage was done to the interior and unknown items are missing. Disposition: Report taken.

6:40 p.m. Shots fired/heard at gas station on South Mill Street. Reporting party calling from the station believes he heard gun shots in the area; said heard three shots several seconds apart from a small hand gun but doesn't hear anything now. Disposition: Checks OK.

7:53 p.m. Petty theft of less than $400 on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Two Hispanic male juveniles reportedly took a case of beer. Disposition: Report taken.

10:14 p.m. Health and safety call on South Pauley Street. Several subjects are outside. Disposition: Arrest made.

Aug. 26, 2013

12:48 a.m. Suspicious circumstances at business on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Two females appear to be prostituting themselves in the parking lot near a white Ford Escort. Arrest made for a felony warrant and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Aug. 23, 2013

12:18 p.m. Shots fired/heard on Willow Pass Drive. Residents are shooting a pellet gun toward reporting party's property. Disposition: Negative contact.

Aug. 24, 2013

8:07 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. call on Jacaranda Drive. Dog has been barking non-stop since yesterday evening. Disposition: Negative contact.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing reported.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming west northwest in the evening.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the morning.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the evening.

• Because of Labor Day, the City Council will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 3 instead of Monday. The meeting will be in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St., at 6 p.m.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 305 S. Robinson St.
