The latest - The school district has been having meetings for parents to explain a proposal to move sixth graders to a different area of the Jacobsen Middle School campus. Reporter Matt Martz covered the meeting at Tompkins Elementary last night and an additional meeting will be held tonight at Cummings Valley School, 5:30 p.m. (story link below).

08:32 FLAG DOWN Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Transmissions, Inc., E. Tehachapi Blvd., Circulating vicinity adjacent Tehachapi Transmission, in dirt field between Bailey/ Dennison flagged down by male subject, adult female half, suspicious circumstances. Disposition: No Further Action Required, No criminal activity. Female transported to Salvation Army.
 
08:55 PETTY THEFT LESS THAN $400 Occurred on Oakwood St., Vehicle was entered last night, coin and papers were the loss. Disposition: Report Taken. Unlocked Vehicle.

10:38 BURGLARY; INHABITED Occurred on Cherry Lane, Tehachapi. Past occurrence, Pry marks observed. Disposition: No Further Action Required .

11:42 SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE Occurred at Chaparral Lane/S. Green St., Tehachapi. Dark green truck suspicious in the area occupied by a black male adult in 50's and white female adult possibly involved in drug activity. Disposition: Unable to Locate.

12:30 SUSPICIOUS PERSON Occurred at The Human Extension/The Tec on S. Green St., two suspicious subjects behind location., no further disposition due to called being uncooperative. Disposition: Warning

12:59 SUSPICIOUS PERSON Occurred at Tehachapi Bible & Book Store on S. Curry St., States that two teen males, approximately 18 years of age, came into his store and acted suspiciously. White males both wearing dark coats and one had a dark knitted hat on as well. Left east bound through the alley toward the hospital guild thrift shop. Disposition: Assisted.

14:10 TRAFFIC CONTROL NEEDED Officer initiated activity at E. Valley Blvd. at Snyder Ave., Disposition: Assignment Completed.

14:40 POLICE-911 Occurred at St. Vincent De Paul Store on S. Green St. Service Class: Business,disturbance, Male subject inside location creating a disturbance no longer wishing to leave. Disposition: Unable to Locate.
 
14:52 BURGLARY; INHABITED Occurred on Oakwood St., Tehachapi. Husband's truck bed was rummaged through last night- male had to leave to go to work and is reporting when he gets home/unknown loss/ he will be home at approx 1600 hours. Disposition: Report Taken. Unlocked Vehicle.

14:55 TRAFFIC CONTROL NEEDED Officer initiated activity at Tompkins Elementary, S. Curry St, Disposition: Assignment Completed.

20:53 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at Valley Blvd./Oakwood St., Disposition: Warning

21:39 TRAFFIC STOP Officer initiated activity at Sail Thru Car Wash, Tucker Rd., Disposition: Warning (Cite/Verbal).

21:42 CITIZEN REQUESTED ASSISTANCE Officer initiated activity at Sail Thru Car Wash, Tucker Rd, Tehachapi. Disposition: Information Only .

21:45 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Officer initiated activity at Church Of Nazarene, Highline Rd., Possible suspicious vehicle. Disposition: Checks Ok.

22:11 CITIZEN REQUESTED ASSISTANCE Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on E. “F” St. Regarding a restraining order reporting party is standing by in a black Ford Escape. Disposition: Assignment Completed.

22:51 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on S. Pauley St., Tehachapi. Reporting parties wife is under the influence of alcohol and will not leave the reporting party alone. Reporting party requesting an officer. Disposition: Checks Ok.

02:40 DISABLE VEHICLE Officer initiated activity at E. Tehachapi Blvd, Disposition: Checks Ok.

03:32 WELFARE CHECK REQUEST Occurred at E. Tehachapi Blvd./S. Dennison Rd., Reporting party states there is a female subject possibly a juvenile walking down the road just east of Dennison/wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt and pants. Disposition: Assignment Completed.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department: No report.

Stallion Springs Police Department: No report.

California Highway Patrol: BLUE ALERT- CA. STATEWIDE: Suspect- Christoper Dorner, 33 year old, Black, Male, 6 ft., 270/ driving a gray Nissan Titan, CA license plate 8D83987, on Feb. 7 at approximately 0122 hours the suspect was involved in multiple shootings with multiple agencies in the Riverside CA area. If seen call 911.

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

• This afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 46 by 5 p.m. West northewest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

• Tonight: A slight chance of rain showers before 10 p.m., then rain and snow showers likely. Snow level 5200 feet lowering to 4000 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Breezy with a West/northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with a gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

• Friday: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Breezy, with a West/northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

• Friday night: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Blustery, with a West/northwest wind of 15 to 25 mph, with a gusts as high as 35 mph.

• Weather to clear up for the weekend, with low temperatures.
