Cones now line Tehachapi Boulevard between South Curry Street and Mountain View Road in anticipation of a repaving project.
City Engineer Jay Schlosser announced at the City Council meeting Monday that the traffic pattern along the road would be altered beginning Tuesday. Only the westbound lanes will be repaved this year, he said, but he anticipates the eastbound lanes to receive the same treatment in the spring.
According to the City of Tehachapi Facebook page, work includes pavement replacement and the installation and upgrading of curbs and ramps to the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
Schlosser said he anticipates crews to be in and out within a month. Although the boulevard will not be closed completely, city officials warn travelers to expect delays.
