Possible child annoyance suspect sought by police

Tehachapi Police Chief Jeff Kermode reports that on Monday, Sept. 9, at about 2 p.m., a 16-year-old female student was walking home from Tehachapi High School when she encountered an adult male walking in the opposite direction. The student ignored his request and continued walking home, where she called police to report the incident. She was headed westbound on the north sidewalk of Valley Boulevard, east of Mill Street when she met the man. The man was last seen walking eastbound toward Curry Street.

Tehachapi Police Department officers were on scene within three minutes of being dispatched, but were unable to locate the man.

Subject Description:

Hispanic male, 50, 5’-08”, 180-200 lbs, dark complexion, longer black hair with gray, no facial hair, dirty appearance, dark colored shirt, blue jeans, carrying a black bag.

The Tehachapi Police Department encourages anyone who sees a person in the area of Valley Boulevard and Curry Street matching this description to immediately call police dispatch at 821-3239.
