A pair of parolees was arrested for burglary after Tehachapi Police officers followed leads that led them to the Ranch Motel at 500 East Tehachapi Blvd on the morning of Jan. 10.

The first suspect, Ashley Dane Wadkins, 30, of Tehachapi was taken into custody shortly after leading police on a foot chase that ended 10 minutes later in a back yard in the 500 block of East “E” St.

Wadkins, currently on probation for a September 2012 burglary conviction in Tehachapi, was booked on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance, resisting an officer, and multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Michael David Waters of Porterville, was also taken into custody inside the motel room where after making a forced entry, officers were able to recover property that had been stolen during a residential burglary that was committed earlier in the week in the 500 block of East “E” Street.

Waters, currently on parole, was booked on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, and violation of parole.
