Small grass fire scorches Bear Valley golf course

A small grass fire ignited this morning at the Oak Tree Golf Course in Bear Valley Springs.

Responding units from Kern Fire Station No. 16 in Bear Valley kept the fire to less than a quarter acre in size, with no homes threatened, despite the high winds and dry conditions.

Kern County Battalion Chief Heidi Dinkler would like to remind all “Tehachapi News readers that were are currently in a red flag alert status and to be even more mindful of the potential for wildland fires.”
