Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 30, 2013

10:34  a.m. Grant theft report occurred on Arabian Drive. $4000.00 cashier check was stolen from residence. Disposition: Report taken.
1:45 p.m. Disturbing the peace occurred on South Mill Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.
8:10 p.m. Shots fired/heard occurred on Elm Street. Multiple gun shots, possibly from a shotgun heard. Disposition: Checks OK.
8:19 p.m. Shots fired/heard occurred at Green Street and White Oak Drive. Loud shots heard from the area, young teen male in black hoodie and blue jeans seen in area jumping fences down White Oak towards the church. Disposition: Unable to locate.
8:43 p.m. Flag down Officer initiated activity at West "E" Street. Disposition: Arrest made. Warrant

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 30, 2013

9:55 a.m. Animal call occurred on Chester Court. 4 cows in roadway, one black, two red and a brindal. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

12:00 p.m.  Assult report occurred on Stacy Court. Disposition: Report taken.

5:53 p.m. Auto accident, no injuries, ccurred on Highline Road. Vehicle vs deer. Disposition: Turn Over To CHP.

10:48 p.m. Vicious, Barking ect. occurred on Cumberland Road. Disposition: Quiet on departure.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation

Deputies responded to 15 incidents between Oct. 30 and the morning of Oct. 31, including an out-of-control juvinile and a narcotics call, both in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 63. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 38. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 67. East wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: Night Mostly clear, with a low around 40. East wind around 10 mph.

Skies will be clear and sunny for the remainder of the week, with highs in the 60s and lows dipping to around 40.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• Tehachapi City Council will hold its next meeting on Monday, Nov. 4, 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St. The November meeting was moved to Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.

• The next scheduled meeting for the Tehachapi Airport Commission is Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St.

• Beginning in November, the City Council and Planning Commission will meet at Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St., in the board room. This is a change from meeting at the Beekay Theatre.

MOUNTAIN SPORTS THIS WEEK

Football – Varsity/JV vs. Foothill at home this Friday, Nov. 1. Frosh vs. Foothill at home this Thursday, Oct. 31. Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m. and Jayvee/Freshmen starts at 5 p.m.

Volleyball – Varsity/JV/Frosh-Soph vs. North at home on Thursday, Oct. 31. Matches start at 6:30 p.m. (Varsity), 5 p.m. (Jayvee) and 4 p.m. (Frosh-Soph). On Tuesday, Varsity d. Highland 25-11, 26-24, 25-20; Jayvee d. Highland 25-15, 23-25, 15-10; Frosh-Soph d. Highland 25-17, 25-23.

Girls tennis – Varsity at CIF South Area Section Individual Championships on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 1-2. Singles start at 2 p.m. and Doubles start at 4 p.m. on Friday, and matches start at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Cross Country – Varsity/Jayvee at Garces (SEYL dual) on Wednesday, Oct. 30. First run starts at 3:30 p.m.
