PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT

Between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3 the Tehachapi Police Dept. handled 276 incidents. These included 31 traffic stops and 19 felony or misdemeanor arrests.

Felony arrests were as follows:

Robby Alan Wilson, 49, arrested Oct. 28 on felony warrant for making a knowingly false or fraudulent statement for the purpose of obtaining or denying any compensation.

Juan Galeana Lopez, 42,  arrested Oct. 29 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cody Eugene Henson, 25, arrested Oct. 30 on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Tejaskumar Champakbhai Patel, 33, arrested Oct. 30 on a felony warrant for possession of ammunition by person prohibited from owning a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Erik Tylor Jones, age 22 , arrested Nov. 3 for possession of a controlled substance.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 55. West northwest wind around 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. East wind around 5 mph becoming northwest in the evening.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 56. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. East wind around 5 mph.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• Tehachapi City Council will hold its next meeting on Monday, Nov. 4, 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St. The November meeting was moved to Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.

• The next scheduled meeting for the Tehachapi Airport Commission is Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St.

• Beginning in November, the City Council and Planning Commission will meet at Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St., in the board room. This is a change from meeting at the Beekay Theatre.

MOUNTAIN SPORTS THIS WEEK

Football – Varsity/Jayvee at Garces this Friday, Nov. 8. Frosh at Garces this Thursday, Nov. 7. Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m. and Jayvee/Freshmen starts at 5 p.m.

Volleyball – Varsity/Jayvee/Frosh-Soph vs. Garces at home on Thursday, Nov. 7. Matches start at 6:30 p.m. (Varsity), 5 p.m. (Jayvee) and 4 p.m. (Frosh-Soph).

Cross Country – Varsity/Jayvee at SEYL Tri-Meet (East/Highland) on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Brite Lake. First run starts at 3:30 p.m.
