Let's Play Ball! Little League holds opening ceremonies Saturday

Tehachapi Little League held its opening ceremony Saturday at 8 a.m. at Grimes Field in West Park.

The fields were packed with anxious ballplayers ready to begin the new season. This year, a total of 35 teams will compete in eight divisions comprised of both male and female athletes ages 7 through 16.

The Spring Teams for 2014 will include the following:

Lower Minor Baseball -- Diamondbacks, Pirates, Dodgers, Giants, Angels and Yankees.

Upper Minor Baseball -- As, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Red Sox and Angels.

Major Baseball -- As, Angels, Nationals, Cubs, Dodgers and Padres.

Senior Baseball -- Angels, Padres, Dodgers, Giants, Cardinals and Pirates.

Farm Softball -- Camo Cuties, Sassy Warriors and Rockers.

Minor Softball -- Cupcake Cannibals and Diamond Divas.

Major Softball -- Wildcats, Rampage and Lady Warriors.

Senior Softball -- Storm, Titans and Dynasty.

On Saturday, March 29, Picture Day for the teams will be held all day at West Park.
