NWS issues Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service in Hanford predicts moderate snow and strong winds for areas in the Kern County Mountains starting Monday evening.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. on Monday, March 31, until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

The NWS predicts 3 to 6 inches of snow and 10 inches for areas above 7000 feet. Affected areas include Bear Valley Springs, Frazier Park, Cuddy Valley, Alta Sierra and Tehachapi.

West winds of 20 to 30 mph are also predicted with gusts around 45 mph. The weather may cause slick roads with blowing and drifting snow over higher roadways, the NWS says.
