The latest news - On May 20, 2014, an operation hosted by the Tehachapi Police Department was conducted in the Tehachapi area. With the assistance of the Taft Police Department and Kern County Probation Officers a total of eight arrests were made. Of those arrests... HERE.

Tehachapi Police Department:

May 29, 2014

4:52 a.m. Burglary report, occurred on South Green Street. Disposition: Report taken.

6:16 a.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on South Davis Street. Reporting party's son  is disturbing the peace with her. Disposition: Checks OK.

6:48 a.m. Threats death/bodily injuries, occurred at Orchard Apartments on North Mill Street. Reporting party's mother has been threatening the reporting party with a knife, unknown if she has a knife at this time. Reporting party is outside. Disposition: Unfounded.

7:09 a.m. Missing juvenile, occurred on Michelle Lane. Disposition: Report Taken.

9:20 a.m. Welfare check request, occurred at Highway/Woodford Tehachapi Road. Blind female wandering out into roadway. Disposition: No further action required, unable to locate.

10:15 a.m. Grand theft report, occurred on East "F" Street. Reporting party's previous tenants were not given access to the garage. They made entry to the garage and took miscellaneous tools. Disturbing party is not at location. Disposition: Report taken.

10:33 a.m. Burglary report, occurred on Oakwood Court. Unknown subjects went through the reporting party's fence and made entry to his shed, miscalaneous tools were taken but were found outside the fence.  Disposition: Assignment completed.

4:56 p.m. Tehachapi, occurred at West Tehachapi Boulevard/Mountain View Avenue. Motorcycles are driving in the back field near her house and Kmart  and wants to know if legal. Concern fire might start due the motorcycles might create spark.  Disposition: Advised.

Bear Valley Police Department:

May 28, 2014

12:49 a.m. Animal call, occurred at Rifle Court/Jacaranda Drive. At the rock with the barrier, two bears were heard. Reporting parting wanted to make others aware via Code Red for the safety of their animals. Reporting brought his dogs in for the night. Disposition: Information only .

3:13 p.m. Out for investigation, officer initiated activity at Cub Lake, Bear Valley Road. Disposition: Assignment completed.

5:57 p.m. Excessive speed, occurred at Bear Valley Springs Community Church on Plateau Way. Silver Mercedes was observed going approximately 60 mph on Plateau and is now parked at the church. Disposition: No further action required.

May 29, 2014

2:42 p.m. Reckless driving, occurred on Highway 58. Vehicle is cutting off other drivers on eastbound Highway 58. Transferred caller to CHP. Disposition: Turn over to CHP.

4:20 p.m. Threats death/bodily injury, occurred at Bear Valley Police Department on Bear Valley Road. Ongoing criminal threats by a male subject at the reporting party's school. Disposition: Assignment completed.

8:44 p.m. Out of control juvenile, occurred on Cumberland Road. Counter, out of control juvenile, keep the peace. A juvenile was pushing his mother and has left the scene. Disposition: Advised.

Kern County Sheriff's Department:

Between May 29 and the morning of May 230, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 10 calls, including a child endangerment call on Breeze Place and a burglary call on Banducci Road.

Stallion Springs: Nothing to report.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.


Today: Sunny, with a high of 83. West southwest winds of 16 mph.

Tonight: Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low of 55.

Saturday: Sunny with a high of 82. West south winds between 5 mph and 14 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low of around 54. Winds around 14 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Winds between 7 mph and 15 mph.


• The Catholic Daughters will be holding their Spring Rummage sale on Friday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in McMullan Hall at St. Malachy Catholic Church, located at 407 W. "E" St.

• Scout Troop 178 will host a rummage sale to raise money for Scout Camp on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 7 a.m., at the Health and Wellness Parking lot, located at 20241 Valley Blvd.


• Lisa Kroese will give a presentation and answer questions on the topic of "What will we do with all of our stuff?" The public is invited and the June 5 meeting will be at the Senior Center, located at 500 E. "F" St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
