Commission to review Dollar General plan
The Tehachapi Planning Commission will hear plans for the construction of a new massive discount chain store during its meeting on Monday, Jan. 14.
The hearing will address the architectural design and site plan for a 20,707 square-foot Dollar General to be located next to the current Dollar Tree store, on the east side of Tucker Rd., south of Valley Blvd. and north of Cherry Lane.
Headquartered in Goodlettsville Tennessee, the retail giant recently opened a 439,000-square-foot distribution center at the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center, as well four stores in the Bakersfield area.
Dollar General carries groceries, pet food, cleaning supplies, furniture and storage items, home decor, baby essentials, apparel and healthcare items.
Also at the meeting the commission will hold a public hearing on the revision to plans to construct a 72-room, three story non-franchise hotel measuring 25,319 square-feet on a 1.06 acre site in Capital Hills.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Beekay Theatre.
