The Latest News — For the second time in two weeks Tehachapi Police have responded to a call of a female high school student being harassed on her way to school. We will be providing updates as we receive information from law enforcement.

09:56     FOLLOW UP; Officer initiated activity at U.S. Post Office on Voyager Dr. Turned over to Postal Inspector.

10:59     VANDALISM AGAINST PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER; Occurred on South Mill St. Carport damaged. Report taken.

14:04     WELFARE CHECK REQUEST; Occurred on East “E “St.  Mother acting unusual, slurring speech. Checks okay.

14:06     PETTY THEFT LESS THAN $400.00; Occurred at Tompkins Elementary on South Curry St. Report taken.

14:22     FOUND PROPERTY; Officer initiated activity at Cherry Ln. and Brentwood Dr. Report taken.

14:29     UNAUTHORIZED USE OF PERSONAL INFO; Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Police Department, East “F “St.

15:36     DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE; Occurred at Starbucks Coffee 8726 Tucker Rd. Possible DUI pulled into the parking lot in a newer model gray Toyota Camry. Officers were unable to locate a female driver who was swerving in and out of the lanes on 202.

16:56     BURGLARY ALARM; Occurred at Car Wash Express on Tucker Rd. False alarm.

18:43     COUNTER AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Police Department, East “F” St. Reporting person went to school to pick up his sister's autistic son because she had not picked him up. Sister may be missing.

19:23     RECKLESS DRIVING; Occurred at East Tehachapi Blvd. and SouthDennison Rd. Dark colored vehicle swerving westbound Tehachapi approaching Snyder while following a Hall ambulance. Gone On arrival.

07:02     TRAFFIC CONTROL NEEDED; Officer initiated activity at Jacobsen Middle School on Anita Dr. Officer observed vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

0:743     SCHOOL RESOURCE DUTY; Officer take report at the Village Apartments on N. Mill St. in reference to a 14-year old girls claim that she was followed on her way to school.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing to report.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: 3:14 pm. on Tuesday, Jan 29.  Deputies respodned to a report of grand theft over $950. Suspect cashed a check on a closed account at a bank on Valley Blvd.

Bear Valley Police department: Nothing to report.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachap area:

• This afternoon: Sunny with temperatures rising to near 57 and breezy.

• Tonight: Clear with a low around 34. East southeast wind around 5 mph to 10 mph.

• Thursday: Sunny with a high near 58. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

• Friday: More sunshine with a high near 59. East wind 10 to 15 mph.

• No precipitation is forecasted through the weekend.

CIVIC CALENDAR

The Tehachapi Healthcare District Board of Directors has canceled its regular scheduled meeting for February 20 and has scheduled two special board meetings for tonight at 6 p.m. and Monday Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District main conference room at 115 West "E" St.
