The Tehachapi News presents the News@Noon for Feb. 1, 2013:

The latest - Fun seems to be the theme for Downtown Tehachapi's First Friday Art Walk tonight, with a number of venues rolling out the red carpet for guests.

Galleries, the Tehachapi Museum and some shops will be open for the special event from 5 to 8 p.m. plus there is a show continuing at the Beekay Theatre (curtain time is 7:30 p.m. for "Almost, Maine," $15) and Fiddler's Crossing is hosting Jann Klose in concert (7 p.m., $15.)

With the exception of the concert and show at the Beekay, events are free.

09:47 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on E. "I" St., Tehachapi. Service Class: residence, black male approx 40 years old cursing and yelling at reporting party. Last seen South walking in the area of Mojave/I. S.t wearing blue hat, black sweater and light pants disturbing party was bothering the reporting parties dogs, when she asked him to stop he started cursing and yelling at her in front of her children. Disposition: Civil Problem.

09:54 EXTRA PATROL Occurred on Miller Lane, 45 year old male heavy set, left by vehicle in a black Mercury direction of travel north from location on Tucker. Was seen loitering in front of mailboxes Disposition: Information Only .

10:23 FIRE Occurred at Love's Truck Stop on E. Tehachapi Blvd. Service Class: Business, fire in field east of the business, possibly a building, smoke seen, no flames. Disposition: No Further Action Required.

11:07 PARKED VEHICLE Officer initiated activity at W. "J" St., Tehachapi. Delivered 72 hour Notice Disposition: 72 Hour Notice .

11:24 TRESPASSING Occurred on Appaloosa Ct., Tehachapi. Disposition: Advised.

14:34 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred at W. “A” St/S. Mill St., Hispanic male 5'6"-5'8" mustache, white shirt, jeans, blonde female sitting on the curb with several travel bags. Reporting Party stated the subjects appeared to be arguing and they are not known to the area. Disposition: Unable to Locate.

14:54 AUTO ACCIDENT - NO INJURIES/PROPERTY DAMAGE Occurred at Tompkins Elementary on S. Curry St. Second half is reluctant to exchange info. Disposition: No Further Action Required

15:46 THREATS DEATH/BODILY INJURY Occurred at Love's Truck Stop on E. Tehachapi Blvd. Recently fired employee is threatening to physically harm the manager and other employees. NO weapons seen. Last seen driving a black Jetta west bound on Tehachapi Blvd. Disposition: Situation Resolved.

16:07 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred at Christian Life Assembly Of God on West Valley Blvd. Entry/exit office door, no responsible. Disposition: No Further Action Required.

17:15 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at Jacobsen Middle School on Anita Dr., disturbance fight juvenile female vs female, Medical declined. Disposition: Report Taken.

18:13 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred at Jiffy Lube on Tucker Rd., storage door, message left for responsible party. Disposition: Checks Ok.

21:59 WELFARE CHECK REQUEST Occurred at Tehachapi Hospital on W. “E” St. Adult female left the hospital with IV in her arm. Disposition: Assignment Completed.

22:22 SHOTS FIRED/HEARD Occurred on N. Davis St., One shot in the area of the alley behind reporting parties location Disposition: Unable to Locate.

23:45 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred at Jacobsen Middle School on Anita Dr., Audio activation in principal's office. Disposition: False Alarm.

07:41 SUSPICIOUS PERSON Occurred at Pinon St./S. Curry St, Two people walking with ski masks and big coats unable to tell sex one mask purple one is black last seen on pinon going toward curry. They have their hoods pulled up over the masks. Disposition: Unable to Locate.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing to report.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing to report.

Bear Valley Police department: Nothing to report.

• This afternoon: Sunny with temperatures rising to near 65. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph

• Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low around 40. East  southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

• Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 65. East southeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

• Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 41. East wind around 5 mph.

• No precipitation is forecasted through the weekend.

The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District has scheduled an additional special board meeting for noon, Monday, Feb. 4 in the hospital conference room, 115 West “E” St. to further discuss issues tabled at their special board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Tehachapi City Council meeting, Monday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. at the Beekay Theatre.
