The latest news - Tehachapi is still digging out from a major winter storm and school was delayed by two hours today due to snow and ice. Big news on the sports front — two playoff games for boys and girls basketball tonight in THS gym, boys at 5 p.m. and girls at 7 p.m. Go Warriors!

February 19

12:22 a.m. Residential burglary in the 22900 block of Mariposa Road.

1:31 p.m. Aggravated assault with serious bodily injury at residence in the 21400 block of Hacienda Drive.

California Highway Patrol: 

A high wind advisory is in effect from the junction of Highway 14 to the junction of US 395. Travel is not recommended for Campers, Trailers or permit loads.

Bear Valley Police Department: 

February 19: 10:38 Petty theft in the 29800 block of Starland Drive: Disposition Information only

February 20: 13:55 Welfare check 26800 block of Stirrup way: Disposition Checks OK

Stallion Springs Police Department:

On Feb. 16, SSPD officers received a call of trespass suspects on a residential property in Stallion Springs. Officers searched the location and located two adults, one male and one female trespassing on the property. Both subjects were from Vista, California. The property owner did not wish to prosecute. Officers issued a written warning and escorted them from the property.

 On Feb. 20, SSPD officers assisted the Stallion Springs Community Services District by operating snow plows in Stallion Springs.

CIVIC CALENDAR

THS School Site Council Meeting originally scheduled for this Thursday, Feb. 21 has been postponed to next Thursday, Feb. 28 in the THS Administration Building Conference Room at 1 p.m.

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District's February Board of Director’s meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19, has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the TVRPD office, 490 W. "D" St.
