SUV stolen after traveler held at gunpoint in Bakersfield motel

The Kern County Sheriff's Office has asked the public to be on the lookout for a Maroon Honda Pilot SUV with Arkansas plates that was reported stolen in Bakersfield on Thursday night, July 25.

The suspects in the auto theft are reported to have forced their way into a motel room occupied by the owner of the vehicle and his minor son, then held a gun to the child while stealing the man's wallet with cash and credit cars and car keys.

The incident occurred at the Motel 6 on Brundage Lane at about 11:30 p.m.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males, one Hispanic female and one white female, believed to be the driver. One of the Hispanic males is believed to be still armed with a silver colored handgun.

The suspects were last seen in the victim’s stolen vehicle, a Maroon, Honda Pilot, SUV with a woodpecker license plate with a possible partial Arkansas plate of “ZR51."
