The latest - Snow arrived in the Tehachapi Valley overnight, closing schools and Tehachapi-Willow Springs Road, but otherwise not causing many problems. AND the Boots and Badges Blood Drive was cancelled because the Houchin Blood Bank bus broke down. AND a train hit a truck at about 3 a.m. this morning; we're working on getting more information and hope to post an updated story sometime this afternoon.

Caller said white female adult with floral shirt gray pants was laying on the ground next to a vehicle in front of the 1st house near the mail boxes, was previously under the vehicle, then reckless driving in the vehicle, now laying next to the car on the ground. Disposition: Turn over to Kern County Sheriff

03:19 MAJOR TRAFFIC ACCIDENT Occurred at South Dennison Road/East Tehachapi Blvd, one half mile East of the location Train collided with a vehicle.
07:47 WELFARE CHECK REQUEST Occurred on S. Davis Street, Mother said he fell but the child stated son punched me in the face. Father is requesting a welfare check child is home, states there is a definite bruise on the right side of the face on the cheek bone mother does have full custody, requests contact from the responding officer by telephone. Disposition: No further action required.

Home burglary reported at 4 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 21000 block of Madre Street. No further information was available.

• Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Windy, with a northwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
• Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 29. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
• Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
• Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District's February Board of Director’s meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19, has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the TVRPD office, 490 W. "D" St.
