California Highway Patrol has closed Highway 58 between Tower Line Road in Bakersfield and the Cameron Road area due to winter weather conditions Saturday.

CHP is reporting multiple traffic accidents between Bakersfield and Mojave, and officers of the Tehachapi Police Department have also responded to several in Tehachapi.

Road conditions in the city are somewhat slippery, but snow plows are out and about. Heavier snowfall has been reported in Golden Hills and Stallion Springs.

Snow began falling on the Tehachapi Mountains around 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory to be in effect until 10 p.m. One to three inches of snow is forecasted as the daytime accumulation in the city.

Updates on weather conditions, closures and cancelations will be given as they become available.
