Tehachapi man arrested on attempted murder charges
A 62-year-old Tehachapi man was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 17, for attempted murder and other charges, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The arrest of George Edward Thompson, a resident of Golden Hills, took place at 1:30 a.m. and he was subsequently booked at the Mojave KCSO facility on charges of Battery on a Person and Inflicting Corporal Injury on a Spouse/Cohabitant in addition to Attempted Murder.
His bail has been set at $552,500 and a hearing on the charges is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday in Kern County Superior Court, Mojave.
The female victim was transported to Kern County Medical Center and is reported to be in fair condition, according to the KCSO.
