$194,000 in marijuana plants, guns, confiscated during Rosamond arrest

The Kern County Sheriff's Office reports an arrest in Rosamond yesterday for marijuana cultivation.

According to a news release from the KCSO, over the past several weeks deputies from the Rosamond Substation received information regarding subjects possibly growing marijuana at a residence in the 5800 block of Holiday Avenue in Rosamond.

An investigation ensued and deputies gathered enough information to obtain a search warrant for that residence. On March 4, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies from the Rosamond and Mojave Substations served the search warrant at the residence.

During the service of the warrant, deputies located approximately 58 pounds of processed marijuana, 199 live marijuana plants, one rifle, one handgun, and other evidence indicative of marijuana sales and cultivation.

The street value of the processed marijuana and the live marijuana plants was estimated at approximately $194,000. Diego Garate, 31, of Rosamond, was arrested at the residence for marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, and maintaining a place for drug trafficking. He was booked into the Mojave Jail and bail was set at $35,000.
