Stallion Springs police apprehend suspect at large

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Stallion Springs Police Department was contacted by California State Parole and the United States Marshalls office regarding registered sex offender Roland Clark Franklin. This subject was wanted by both agencies for a recent criminal act in Bakersfield California and for cutting off his GPS ankle unit.

Investigative information led to a possible residence in the township of Stallion Springs where the subject may be hiding out. Stallion Springs officers provided additional information that they had developed which corroborated State Parole and U.S. Marshals information.

The Stallion Springs Police Department, State Parole and the U.S. Marshalls then responded to the residence in question and located subject Roland Clark Franklin, where they placed him under arrest without incident. The subject has prior arrests and conviction for attempted rape by force/fear and kidnapping for ransom with intent to commit a sexual offense.
