It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Tehachapi is gearing up for the holiday season in preparation for its annual Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 7, followed by the lighting of the city's Christmas tree at the Depot.

Jerry Sorenson, from the Tehachapi Public Works Department, puts the finishing touches on the city's Christmas tree at the Depot on Tehachapi Boulevard. There will be a special lighting ceremony for the tree following Saturday's Christmas parade.

Downtown Tehachapi is decorated and ready for Christmas with events planned throughout the next few weeks.

The big event is the Christmas Parade sponsored by the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. It begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The 13th annual parade has the theme "A Storybook Christmas." The route will be down "F" Street beginning at Mulberry Street.

And, each Saturday through Dec. 21 Santa Claus will be at the Tehachapi Depot Museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
