Monroe High reports progress

Here at Monroe High School we have had quite a busy winter. Our student body earned an amazing number of credits toward graduation, many students have completed requirements and graduated early, our reaccreditation progress report is in full swing, and our new staff is starting to leave their mark as well!

Congratulations to our graduates: Lexie Cardiel, Brianna Zuniga, Jonathan Guitierrez, Ivan Lopez, Rebecca Loza, and Sofia Gonzalez. We wish them continued success as they move into the next part of life.

Staff changes include a new principal, Mrs Barba, and a new special education teacher, Ms. Canby. Mrs. Barba was the vice principal at Tehachapi High school until Mr. Press took a new position in Paso Robles. Mrs. Barba has come to us from Baldwin Park Unified School District and brings new ideas and a strong desire to work with students. Ms. Canby has being studying through Point Loma and left work at Kern Schools Credit Union to encourage our students and teach here at Monroe.

Credit achievement is our greatest source of Panther pride this winter. We have twenty -- six students who earned 17 or more credits in one quarter! That is ¼ of our students! Inconceivable! These students include: Sabrina Aziz, Justin Bowell, Miranda Brock, Jennyfer Cantabrana, Kelly Fergison, Tim Fraijo, Jillian Gonzales, Jonathan Herpich, Sky Johnson, Cheyanna Jones, David Jones, Chance Key, Madison King, Erika Lee, Chelsey Lemus, Amber Mayo, Kaylee McKanna, Raychelle Nance, Rebekah Richardson, Justin Russell, Joseph Sanchez, Josiah Snowder, Rebecca Spain, Julia Stebbins, Gloria Tirado, and Justin Zahnow. If you know any of these students please congratulate them.
