11:12 a.m Peace disturbance verbal at TehachapiHigh School. Student vs teacher. Arrest made.

7:11 p.m. Parked vehicle om West Tehachapi Boulevard Arrest made.

7:20 p.m. Fire occurred on East “J” Street. Back yard grass fire, flames seen. Report taken. Note: female at residence was booked on a mental health hold.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing reported.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tonight:A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest in the morning.

Thursday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

• Because of Labor Day, the City Council will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 3 instead of Monday. The meeting will be in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St., at 6 p.m.

• The Golden Hills Community Service District's Board of Directors is holding a special public hearing  at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, to listen to public comments regarding its 2013-14 budget. The hearing will be held at the CSD building, 21415 Reeves St.
