Man accused of rape arrested in Golden Hills

Kern County Sheriff's deputies from the Tehachapi substation have arrested a 78-year old man for allegedly raping a female victim in his garage.

David Partovi was arrested and booked on seven felony charges, including forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sodomy by use of force, rape by foreign object, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, threats of violence and false imprisonment with violence.

According to senior deputy Dannie Bowling, officers were called out to a residence in the 23000 block of Woodford Tehachapi Road at about 2 p.m. on Aug. 25.

The 11-year-old son of the 49-year-old victim reported to that his mother had been missing for about an hour.

When Bowling and other deputies arrived, they could here faint sounds of distress coming from a detached garage located about 50 to 100 feet away from the house.

“At first we weren't sure what we were hearing, wind or something,” Bowling said. “However, as we got closer the sound became more distinct and we were able to determine that it was a female voice screaming.”

Deputies entered the garage and found Partovi, along with the female victim, who was partially nude, bound and gagged.

Evidence pointed to a sexual assault and Partovi was immediately taken into custody.

The victim was transported by ground ambulance to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.

Bowling said the victim and her son were guests of Partovi.

The two were reportedly said to have met on the Internet.

Partovi was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Kern County Superior Court in Mojave for arraignment at 9 a.m. on Sept. 6.
