The National Weather Service in Hanford issued a special weather announcement on Friday morning warning of possible high winds in eastern Kern County.
A series of weather systems moving through the West Coast are expected to bring strong winds to the Kern County mountains and deserts.
A significant weather system will approach the West Coast on Sunday with windy conditions developing and lasting through at least Monday evening.
The strongest gusts are likely to approach 65 mph Sunday evening through Monday, especially through and below desert facing passes and canyons.
