Ariana Benham and Alexzander Chappell of Tehachapi High School were named to the Honor Court in the recent Mock Trial competition sponsored by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office.
Centennial High School defended its Mock Trial county title from last year by again claiming victory in a very close showdown round to win the 2014 Kern County Mock Trial Super Saturday held Jan. 25 in Bakersfield's Kern County Superior Courts of California.
Seventeen high school teams argued the fictitious second-degree murder and possession for sale of a controlled substance case of People v. Concha. Centennial will represent Kern County at the California Mock Trial, March 22-24 in San Jose.
Other students from THS participating included Jacob Balkar, Kasey Brockelsby, Kenneth Charles, Jakob Denman, Amanda Fleeks, Jesus Garnica, Tyler Geisler, Joshua Guzman, Abigail Herrera, Michael Hill, Cody Hurt, Griffen Lucas, Magneto Morgan, Shilo Osborn,Cameron Rocha de Freitas and Autumn Westergren.
Teacher Coaches were Carol Bartels and Ginger Morgan; Attorney Coaches were Ken Green and Jason Webster.
