Gil Grace was sworn in Oct. 10, as the newest member of the Bear Valley Springs Board of Directors.
Grace was selected from 12 candidates, and replaces former board member Bonnie Shea, who resigned on Aug. 12 after nearly three years of service.
Bear Valley Assistant General Manager Sandy Janzen said Shea stepped down due to medical issues and that as a director she was passionate about public safety.
Grace is a Bear Valley resident and a retired department manager of 37 years at a publicly owned utility company, where he was responsible or sheduling and overseeing operations personnel. He also managed and directed training for all facility employees, managed hazardous materials and wastes, and acted as a public affairs manager.
Grace currently serves on the Bear Valley CSD's finance committee.
"We wanted someome with experiece to hit the ground running," said board member Charlene LeClare.
Director Al Ramano agreed, saying that Grace's background would benefit the district.
