There were almost as many glistening tiaras as there are stars in the sky as reigning queens from miles around congregated Saturday at Cummings Valley Elementary School Saturday for the 2014 Miss Tehachapi pageant.

Mistress of ceremonies and the reigning Antelope Valley queen, Jasmine Alniami, placed six crowns on the news queens, Lucy Angelos, Tiny Miss Tehachapi; Paige Chavez, Little Miss Tehachapi; Trinity Madden, Young Miss Tehachapi; Hailey Van Wey, Junior Miss Tehachapi; Katherine Jones, Teen Miss Tehachapi; and Tiffany Rea, Miss Tehachapi.

Addison Hutchinson received the title of Miss Enterprise for being the contestant who raised the most money preceding the pageant. Miss Friendship for the Tiny, Little and Young categories went to Trinity Madden, and for the Junior, Teen and Miss categories went to the new queen, Tiffany Rae.

Hutchinson scored a second honor when she was named Miss Photogenic for the younger three categories, with Adrienne Dille receiving the honor for her age range.

The theme for this year's pageant was "A Sweet Soiree." A panel of three judges scored the girls on talent, speeches and impromptu questions. They were each escorted on stage in the final round by a member of their family while wearing their evening gowns for a final chance to win the judges hearts.

As each new queen received her crowned the resigning queens took the stage and gave tearful goodbyes to family and friends that filled the packed gymnasium. Outgoing queens for 2013 included Tiny Miss Jaidyn Oropeza, Little Miss Samantha Howard, Young Miss Sydney Howard, Junior Miss Jamie Moser, Teen Miss Michy Flores, and Miss Tehachapi Perri Rhodes.

When asked about what her strength and weakness was, the newly crowned Miss Tehachapi Tiffany Rae responded, "My favorite thing to do is make people laugh and smile. My weakness is dealing with celiac disease, which I try everyday to make the negative into a positive."

The remaining contestants were all crowned princesses in their divisions, with the new court of queens to go on to represent Tehachapi in Antelope Valley pageants in the upcoming year.
