Registration is now open for the 2nd annual Discover Tehachapi Ride For Life Poker Run, to be held May 31. Celebrating 11 years of Relay For Life in Tehachapi, bike lovers and their sidekicks are encouraged to sign up now and support a local team.
Participants can choose which city they want to leave from: Lancaster, Bakersfield or Tehachapi. Long and short runs are available through the Kern Mountains, ranging from 90 to 168 miles.
The event will be a 6-card Poker Run. Participants can choose to go to all six stops or just five and draw two.
Stops for the Poker Ride will include the local locations such as Tehachapi's Original Apple Shed, Souza Family Vineyard, P-Dubs and Red House BBQ. Other locations include the Keene Cafe in Keene, Moessner Farms in Brite Valley, Crazy Otto's in Rosamond, Dave's Sports Bar in Bodfish, and Jawbone Canyon.
Cash prizes will be awarded for high hand, low hand and random hands. Prizes will be based on the total number of participants. The first 100 participants to register will receive a Ride For Life patch.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. the day of the event, with the ride to commence from 9 to 10 a.m. All registrants will receive a map and GPS coordinates upon check-in. At 3 p.m., winners will be announced at the restaurant.
