Pedestrian struck by vehicle, killed
An 57-year-old on male walking on Tehachapi Boulevard was struck and killed by a vehicle about a mile east of Tehachapi-Willow Springs Road.
The accident happened at 5:22 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 66-year old James Hacker was traveling eastbound on Tehachapi Boulevard as he approached a pedestrian who stepped into the path of his vehicle. Hacker tried to avoid hitting the man but couldn't, striking the pedestrian with the right front of his vehicle.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time as the CHP has not been able to contact family.
