The Kern County Sheriff’s Office would like to warn Tehachapi area residents of a bear sighting.
On Aug. 7, 2014 at about 1 p.m. a Golden Hills resident who lives in the 21800 block of Golden Hills Boulevard reported a bear sighting. The resident reported a bear weighing approximately 250 lbs. had entered his backyard.
A deputy responded and observed the bear, described as black with a white chest, in the rear yard area of the residence. The bear was last seen running into the woods to the rear of the property.
Fish and Game was advised of the sighting. The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area to report any additional sightings by calling the Sheriffs’ Office at 661-861-3110.
